B+E Car & Trailer Towing
In September 2021, individuals holding a standard Category B car licence were no longer required to pass a driving test to tow trailers and caravans up to 3500kg. However, the DVSA still encourages people to undergo some training, which falls under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER 98 Sec 9) as work equipment. This means that training will still be required.
Insurance companies will consider individuals who have undergone formal training to be lower risk, potentially leading to lower insurance policy prices.
